How to play Chum Rush
Chum Rush is a tap-to-pop puzzle game. You tap groups of matching Chums to pop them, make power-ups from big groups, and finish each level’s goal before you run out of moves. Here is everything you need to know.

The basics
The board is a grid full of Chums, the little jelly characters of the game. Each Chum has a colour and a face: red Zara, yellow Bubu, green Kiko, blue Nimo and purple Pip.
- Tap a group. Two or more Chums of the same kind touching each other (up, down, left or right) form a group. Tap any Chum in the group and the whole group pops. A Chum on its own can’t be popped.
- Chums fall down. When a group pops, the Chums above drop into the gap and new Chums fall in from the top. A good tap can set up the next one.
- Bigger groups score more. Points grow quickly with group size, so waiting to build one big group often beats popping lots of small ones.
- Watch your moves. In Adventure levels every tap uses one move. The ring at the top right counts down and turns orange, then red, when you are running low.
Power Chums
Pop a big group and a power Chum appears where you tapped. Tap a power Chum to fire it.
| Group size | Power | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 💣 Bomb | A round blast that pops everything around it. |
| 6 | ⚡ Lightning | Zaps several Chums around the board, aiming first at blockers, goo and the Chums your level needs. |
| 7–8 | 🚀 Rocket | Shoots across the whole row and the whole column at once. |
| 9+ | 🌈 Rainbow | The biggest power in the game. Save it for when you really need it. |
Power combos: if a power Chum is touching another power Chum when you tap it, they fire together as one much bigger combo. Two rockets, or a bomb with a rocket, can clear a huge part of the board.
Combos, Fever, Quake and Rush
- Combo multiplier. Popping quickly in timed modes, and chaining powers in levels, raises your multiplier (×2, ×3…). Every point is multiplied.
- Fever. Push the combo high enough and the board catches FEVER for a few seconds of bonus scoring.
- Quake meter. Big pops charge the Quake meter. You can store up to three charges, then set them off together for a Double or Triple Quake that shakes loose Chums all over the board.
- Rush Mode. Pop three groups of five or more in a row and the board goes into RUSH: for a short time every pop also takes the Chums around it.
- Golden Chums. Sometimes a Chum shines gold. Any group with a golden Chum in it scores triple.
Level goals
Every Adventure level shows its goal at the top of the board. Common goals are:
- Score: reach the target score.
- Collect: pop a set number of one kind of Chum, for example 18 Kikos.
- Clean the goo: pop the Chums sitting on goo to wipe it. Thick goo takes two pops.
- Smash crates: pop groups right next to crates. Steel crates take two hits.
- Free the chained Chums: pop next to a chained Chum to break its chains.
- Bring the babies down: guide baby Chums all the way to the bottom row.
- Knock out King Grump: on boss levels the grumpy king sits at the bottom of the board. Pop next to him to bring his health down to zero.
- Make powers: create a set number of power Chums.
Some levels add surprises: piñatas that burst with prizes, mystery boxes, time bombs you must clear before their counter reaches zero, and disco levels where the board reshuffles every few moves. Finish with moves to spare and you earn up to three stars.
Game modes
🗺️ Adventure
Hundreds of levels across themed worlds like Chum Valley, Fizzy Falls, Volcano Party and Starry Space. Each world ends with a boss level.
📅 Daily
One board, the same for every player in the world, new every day. Everyone gets the same start, so the leaderboard is fair.
⏱️ Quick Play
60 seconds, no move limit. Pop as fast as you can, keep your combo alive and chase the top of the 60-second leaderboard.
Lives, coins and boosters
Adventure levels use lives. Losing a level costs one life, and lives refill over time. Coins come from winning levels, daily rewards, quests and the Lucky Spin. You can spend them on boosters such as a pre-charged Quake, more golden Chums or three extra moves, and on fun outfits for your Chums. If you run out of moves you can buy a few more with coins to finish the level.
